Physical Agency

the body is infrastructure. when it degrades, everything built on top of it degrades too.

You don't own your focus, motivation, or clarity you borrow them from your physical state. Sleep, food, movement are upstream. Everything else is downstream. The dependency is invisible until something breaks, and then it's obvious.

This page is a log of the moments that made the dependency undeniable.

Incident Log

Bloated, heavy, wiped — the tired sleep doesn't fix. Bitten up from camping on top of it. Just felt like shit.
June 2026
Input
Chips, day after day, and heavy carbs from Paik's noodles. (The marks on the back of my neck are bug bites from camping, not the food.)
Cost
Bloated enough that I couldn't stop noticing it — and noticing it is its own tax. Hard to focus, hard to want anything, when the body feels like sludge. I borrowed energy I didn't have, and the body sent the bill.
On camera
Full-body heaviness (뻐끈함). Needed to sleep mid-day not from tiredness but from the body shutting down. Face visibly bloated. Pale, unhealthy skin tone. People noticed without being asked.
May 2025 road trip, days 4-5
Input
3 packets of shin ramen, repeated. Heavy chocolate, chips. Essentially zero protein, zero vegetables for 48hr.
Cost
Half a day gone. Self-conscious about the bloat which itself killed focus. Hard to be present when you're fixated on how you feel and look. Without physical clarity there's no mental clarity. No mental clarity means no daring, no output, no tackling anything. The whole operating system degrades.
